An SEO audit should show its evidence.
Most SEO tools give you a score out of 100 and a wall of generic tips. You fix things, the score moves, and you still do not know what mattered.
IndieSEO reports what it can prove and shows the specific page, tag, or response the finding came from. If it cannot be sure, it says so.
Built for people who maintain their own websites.
IndieSEO is for independent developers and small-site owners who want to see the source of a problem, make a change, and check it again. It puts each finding in the context of the page and the evidence behind it.
Scan, fix, and verify.
IndieSEO keeps the loop focused: find a concrete problem, understand it, make the change, and check the result.
- Scan.Enter your website. IndieSEO crawls it from your Mac.
- Understand.Issues are grouped with the evidence behind each one.
- Fix.Use plain-language guidance or copy a ready-made prompt into your own coding assistant.
- Rescan.Run the scan again after making your change.
- Verify.See what is fixed, what is new, and what still needs attention.
What IndieSEO checks on your website.
It checks page signals: titles and meta descriptions, headings, canonicals, hreflang, structured data, Open Graph, and image alt text.
It follows crawl paths: redirects and redirect chains, broken internal links, robots rules, sitemaps, mixed content, and HTTP responses.
When you choose to connect Google Search Console, IndieSEO can use that read-only evidence alongside its own site analysis.

Local-first
Your work stays on your Mac.
IndieSEO Projects and scan analysis are stored locally on your Mac. It contacts your site when you scan or re-check it, Google only if you connect Search Console, Lemon Squeezy to check your licence, and our update server once a day to look for new versions. It never sends your site data or results.
Search Console is optional. When connected, it requests read-only access and adds its evidence to your site analysis.

Founding access opens soon.

IndieSEO product questions
Why does IndieSEO avoid a score?
A score can move without telling you what changed or why it matters. IndieSEO focuses on concrete findings and the evidence behind them.
Does it use AI?
IndieSEO doesn’t use AI to find or judge problems. Every finding comes from its own checks, with the evidence. When you want help fixing something, it prepares a prompt from those findings for your own coding assistant.
Do I need Search Console?
No. Search Console is optional. When you connect it, IndieSEO uses read-only Search Console evidence alongside its own analysis.
What Macs does it support?
IndieSEO requires a Mac with Apple Silicon, including M1 and later.
When can I get it?
Private beta access is currently by invitation. Public availability and Founding access both open soon.
